Send people to one useful next step
A good card creates an easy continuation of a conversation. For a consultant, that might be a booking page. For a designer, a selected portfolio. For a salesperson, a contact page with clear ways to follow up. Make the destination match the action printed next to the QR so a new contact knows what to expect.
A QR link is different from a contact file
PrintOnceQR creates URL-based QR codes. To offer an “add to contacts” action, point to a public page or hosted contact file that provides it. The QR itself does not encode a vCard. A web profile gives you more flexibility to update phone numbers, add a project, and keep the next step readable on different devices.
Choose the right download for your printer
PNG is included on the Free plan and works for many layouts at an appropriate resolution. Starter and Pro include SVG for scalable artwork. Keep the QR square and preserve its clear border. Do not stretch it, place text over it, or reduce it until the details blur. Ask for a printed proof before committing to a large run.
Keep the professional handover predictable
If you change companies, make sure the linked content remains appropriate for the card’s branding. Check that you still control the PrintOnceQR account and destination site. A dynamic code gives you flexibility, but it cannot replace permission to use an employer’s branding or access to an old account.
Your questions, answered.
Can I change my website after printing my cards?
Yes. Save the new destination on the existing QR record. The short URL encoded on your cards stays unchanged.
Can I add my company logo?
Pro includes a logo inside the QR. A small, simple logo is easier to scan around than a detailed image. Always test the printed result.
